Cookie Policy
Version 2026-04-26
The short version: we use the smallest possible set of cookies and avoid cross-site tracking entirely. No Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics, no advertising cookies.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your browser to remember things between page loads. There are also similar technologies (local storage, session storage) that we treat the same way for the purposes of this policy.
2. What we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
- Session and security cookies set by Witprinted to keep your generator session alive between page loads, prevent CSRF attacks, and maintain rate-limit state. These are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled.
- Stripe cookies, set on the Stripe Checkout page when you proceed to pay. These are operated by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy and are required for payment processing.
2.2 Analytics
- Plausible Analytics: we use Plausible to count page views, referrers, and browser/country aggregates. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not store your IP address. It produces aggregate counts only.
2.3 What we do NOT use
- No Meta Pixel.
- No Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Tag Manager.
- No TikTok Pixel.
- No advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cross-site trackers.
- No third-party tracking scripts on pages where you upload personal content (Phase 2 photo upload).
This is a deliberate choice. We want the privacy posture to be clean for sensitive flows like name input and (later) photo upload, and we don't want to leak your identity to ad networks.
3. Your choices
- You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may break the checkout or session flow but will not break the generator's text generation.
- You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
4. Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or a Do Not Track (DNT) header, we honour it as an opt-out signal in any context where opt-out applies. In practice, because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and we do not run advertising or retargeting cookies, there is little to opt out of — but we record receipt of the signal in our analytics-aggregate so it is auditable.
Under California CPRA, a GPC signal is treated as a valid opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
5. Changes
If we add or remove cookie use, we'll update this page with a new effective date. If we ever add a cookie that requires consent under your jurisdiction's law, we will ask for that consent before setting it.
